The Woman Wakes up 27 years laTer

1 1 It was an ordinary day in the life of Munira Abdulla, a woman from the United Arab
2 2 Emirates (UAE). Her brother-in-law was driving and they were on the way to school
3 3 to pick up Munira's son. Munira and Omar, then only 4, were sitting in the back seat.
4 4 Suddenly, Munira hugged Omar tightly when she noticed that they were about to

6 6 Unfortunately, a terrible accident happened. Omar survived with almost no problems

7 7 while the accident left Munira seriously injured. Ms. Abdulla was taken to hospital,
8 8 and then transferred to London. She was declared to be in a vegetative state. She was
9 9 unresponsive but able to sense pain. She was then returned to Al Ain of the UAE and
10 moved to various medical facilities. She was fed through a tube, which kept her alive.
11 In 2017, thanks to a grant by a government body of Abu Dhabi, she was transferred

12 to Germany, where she underwent a number of surgeries and was given medication
13 to improve her state. One day, Omar heard her making strange sounds and told it to

14 doctors. According to doctors, everything was normal. 3 days later, Omar woke up to

15 the sound of someone calling his name and verses from the Quran. Omar was flying
13
16 with joy. It was the moment of his dreams. Ever since that day, Munira has been
14
17 going through a rapid recovery. She can now join family life and still works hard to get
